Sunday Spins: The Head and the Heart

June 26, 2016

One of my hobbies is record collecting. I love digging through rows of vinyl at a record store and finding a gem I just have to take home, it's one of my favorite feelings. I also really I love the idea of sharing more tidbits of my life. So, I decided to present a new, weekly feature to Shivers + Crickets. Each Sunday, I will share a record from my collection that I currently cannot get enough of, along with a personal experience I had the previous week. I hope you enjoy it. I know that this is a weekly tradition I'm going to love.

Recently, I rekindled my love for The Head and the Heart. I can listen to this album from front to back and it's one of my favorites to sing along to. They also released a new song earlier this month, called All We Ever Knew. It's catchy, heartfelt and makes me even more excited for their upcoming album, Signs of Light! What do you think of it?

Now, to take a moment and share a little about this past week. It was incredibly busy, but in the best way possible. Yes, I worked four days, but I got to enjoy time with my people. My sweet friend, Malina came up for an overnight visit to escape the hell that has been Phoenix. It was filled with saying up way too late reminiscing about the "old" days, drinking a lot of coffee, and binge-watching half of the newest season of Orange is the New Black. (Have you watched it yet? SO GOOD) In all honesty, It's kinda funny. I'm usually the type to curl up on the couch and watch something on Netflix, alone, to recharge my batteries... But this time, what I really needed was some quality girl time, and I soaked up every single minute of it. I felt like a teenager again and it was amazing.

How was your week? I'd love to hear about it.
